Abstract: the practical application principle of ultraviolet spectrophotometry is to judge substances according to the different absorption degree of ultraviolet rays by different substances. Because ultraviolet light has this characteristic, it can be applied to the judgment of substances. Food is the basis of people's life. For the composition detection and safety analysis of the produced food, it plays an important role in the process of food inspection and is of great significance to maintain food safety. Because UV spectrophotometry has the characteristics of simple operation and high sensitivity in practical application, it is widely used in food detection and safety analysis by food safety inspection departments. Based on this, this paper will stand on the application of UV Spectrophotometry in food detection and food safety analysis, explore the scope of application and practical results, and look forward to its future development space based on reality and combined with the development trend of the times.
